The World of Mechas

Welcome to the Future! As the Article Singularity addresses, "computers are getting so much faster, so incredibly fast, there might conceivably come a moment when they are capable of something comparable to human intelligence." It's quite hard to imagine a world where the advancement of technology can be so highly develop as to where the human intelligence is beaten. I find this article quite fascinating as it relates to what the future likes ahead of us. I quite enjoy how Kurzweil points out that his predictions on the future is not yet all science fiction. Apart from his general idea, I do believe that  with the future, although it may not be 35 years like Kurzweils states, but in the overall time, our society will definitely change.


Looking back though time, lets say the 1900's, who would of thought the development of Apple Computers, or I-phones would have existed. I strongly agree with the author that technology is a network like our brains ourselves, are constantly developing. While comparing the brain to a computer network system, or better known as Artificial Intelligence, yes the brain is developing but through time, humanity will end in defeat.  I have come to realize that it is not in the matter of how Artificial Intelligence will develop, but in the matter of time. Putting a realistic thought into people's head, it may be kinda cheesy to actually believe things like robots taking over the world but the fact that our human mind and capability won't be able to compare itself to it. Furthermore; I that while technology is developing me might be able to develop cures and fixes major problems that we are all facing.


(Spoilers Alert !!!) Some outside information that I would like to add to my blogging is the movie A.I. Artificial Intelligence. The director Steven Spielsburg clearly has done an amazing job in producing a film where the film events are taken place in the future. Like in this article Similarities the movie A. I. Artificial Intelligence focuses on how Humans rely on the use of technology. Through the years, humans are able to modify human like robots called mechas. As the mechas are developing their central intelligence, they have outsmarted the human race. I find this movie really interesting in how unique the future lies ahead of them. As a cycle is clearly portrayed where man makes mechanics to mechanics ruling the people. However in this movie, I don't believe that the human race will die out and mechas will take over, with the addition of aliens. (LOL) Overall, I believe this movie really ties in the idea that technology is always modifying and advancing. 


(Spoilers Alert!!!) Another example, or outside information is the movie called  I-Robot  with Will Smith. As close as the Article Similarities addresses, the movie I-Robot is about how humans are developing robot machines in-order to serve the humans. As the robots are being produced by mass to satisfy the human condition, they have out smarted the humans, and within their own network of intelligence, rebel and become free-willed.


However, apart from A.I. Artificial intelligence and I-Robot, I believe that there will be one day where intelligence will meet the required standards and change how our modern day will function. Like stated above, I believe it to be highly unlikely that robots will take over and rule the world, but be will be able to gain highly advance information as to curing the impossible. Our society has become overly too dependent on the use of technology, what can I say, we definitely can't live without it.

Ryan A. Piccirillo writes this article Qi(Chi) in James Cameron Avatar to depict the cultural influences shown worldwide. Piccirillo evaluates on the Chinese Philosophical concept that as in James Cameron The Avatar, the belief of the deity of "Eywa" represent a similar meaning in that the society is comprised on the idea of an immaterial life force, keeping the existing of life together. Piccirillo purpose for writing this piece is to acknowledge the similar concepts of how  life is channeled through the ways of "Eywa" and the basic conception of the Chinese Philosophy.


This Article's intended audience should be towards anyone with a common interest in the ideals and beliefs of the diverse Cultural Influences. I believe that the author is well aware of the audience as be briefly explains the whole spiritual philosophical meaning of the cultural boundaries between Earth and Pandora. The author is able to construct his article into different sub-sections labeling the different group that each belongs to. The three groups are categorized as Self Cultivation, Nature, and Life & Death. Self Cultivation is to represent the energy that is flowing among them with the addition of the  spiritual connection that allows the society of the Na'Vi to incorporated the importance of the nature, wisdom, and humanity. Following with nature, as Piccirillo profoundly explains the flowing energy of life living among them. He helps explains the importance of how life and any organism is run through as a single energy where they all flow with Eywa. Furthermore; he illustrates Life & Death where whenever death occurs, life will returned through Eywa where a cycle will repeat and life will flow once more. 


The subject of this article is life itself, through the many conception it adheres. This subject is a mediocre topic and would not be intended towards a general audience, but merely ones who share a similar belief and understanding to the spiritual principles of philosophy. Although the title may be quite catchy as mere millions have seen this film and base it upon the general action and the huge money making graphics, I still believe the audience will be more rounded towards the direction of the spiritual movements. 


The overall thesis that Piccirillo wants to bring forth is the importance of how life is illustrated  through the spiritual energy of the world. This thesis describes life as the mere womb of the world, that the network of energy is anything and everything itself. The author attempts to prove life is above comprehended, there is more to the physical world than thought to seclude. Yes this thesis is controversial as many people share different beliefs.


The author uses quotes from the film that help ties with the article. For example, “They see a network of energy that flows through all living things. They know that all energy is only borrowed, and one day you have to give it back” Yes the quotes that are used are importance as it helps the author's message flow with detailed support. The different types of evidence that would he helpful to help articulate this genre of writing is quotes that help generate the meaning of life, the principles of Pandora. The evidence that would be considered the most persuasive in the hands of the audiences is quotes being interpreted through the views of the Na'Vi tribe and Chinese Philosopher with the same common belief. An inappropriate type of evidence for this genre may be  the humans invading Pandora. 


The author goes into brief detail categorizing his ideas on  Self Cultivation, Nature, and Life & Death. Priccirillo begins his introduction by allowing the audience to visualize how the flow of life functions, he illustrates to the audience a brief setting of a Na'Vi in a ready position to strike his opponent. With one hand one the bow and one on the arrow, he allows the audience to feel the presence of the life being taken the prayer being said "“I see you Brother, and thank you. Your spirit goes with Eywa, your body stays behind to become part of the People” . This article is categorized effectively as it is easier to interpret to different groups and address the meanings.


The writer uses a text unified, flowing transition within passages to help his article run smoothly.In my opinion, I believe Priccirillo did an adequate job keeping the passage neat and organized. The transition gives the passage an interesting approach and entertains the audiences. 


Priccirillo uses diction while talking about the Self-Cultivation, Nature, and Life & Death. He reflects profoundly on comparing the Na 'Vi ways with the philosophical ideals. His language is quite formal, nothing too intoned. The author does not use any specialized term in the article. The language helps contribute the writer's purpose as it is the fundamental overall message that ties the whole meaning together. 


In this article, Priccirillo uses smiles to help compare his perception with the Na 'Vi tribe. They are used to help formulate the well meaning Eywa and the Chinese beliefs. 


Yes I do quite belief that the author, Priccirillo has a well diverse knowledge over the principles of the Chinese Philosophies  as he is able to provide strong evidence with his overall thesis. Yes this article is comprised of a strong ethos with reliable resources as it is easy to understand the belief.
